Many of you know Colorado has been under a lot of stress lately due to wild fires.

But we definitely weren't expecting a shooting anytime soon...

In Aurora, Colorado last night, there was a shooting at the midnight showing of Batman. A man went into the theater, set off tear gas, stood on the stage and shot at the crowd, killing at least 12 people. Many were injured and now hospitalized.  Because of this man, the premiere showing in Paris has been cancelled. Going to the movies will never be the same for a lot of US citizens.

Please keep the families of the loved ones who died in your prayers and thoughts. If you would like more information, visit here: www.cnn.com/2012/07/20/us/colo…

What are your thoughts on an event like this? Do you think it's a coincidence that it happened near Columbine? (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbin…) Do you think this will change how we attend movies? I'd like to know.

Personally, now that I think about it, I'm surprised nothing like this has happened before in a theater. We see things like this happen IN a movie, but not in real life. I'm afraid people will copy this man and try to do this themselves. I sure hope not, but I don't want to take the risk. I think I'll be watching all of my movies at home from now on. :C

I live in Aurora and knew people in the theatre wounded and passed. After this happened it made it very hard to go out in a busy area without getting an anxiety attack. It made me think, it could happen anywhere. On the street, gas station, stores, school, mall. Anywhere where a lot of people are. So for a super long time I hated going out. Then I realized that if I live that way in fear, he will win. So I got over my fear because I didn't want him to have that triumph. I think its good to talk about stuff like this because it keeps people aware of the situation and it helps to not keep things in.
